Besides being the land of "meigas" (galician name of whitches), Galicia has landscapes that take your breath away. If you like it as much as we do going for a walk and getting lost into the wild, you have reached the right post! Take paper and pen, because we are going to give you some recommendations about the best viewpoints of the Sar region. You won't want to miss these views!
The new jewel: Monte Lapido's viewpoint
This new space was previously a garbage dump, but thanks to the initiative of the Community of Montes Veciñais in Man Común de Lapido it has become a place to enjoy the spectacular views offered by the Ulla River and Mount Castro Valente. The best thing is that it's very well connected, right next to the AC-242 road which leads to the parish of Carcacía. We have already gone, what are you waiting for?
Lestrobe's viewpoint
Since 2016 this small viewpoint, which was often unnoticed, has a great signage which allows you to arrive in the blink of an eye and admire the views of nature. Have you arrived thirsty? Don't worry, at the top there is a water fountain in stone and also a picnic area to regain strength. The area can be reached by car as well, but the walk it's much more worth it. There are no excuses, it's time to walk!
Mount Meda
Also known as Elisa's peak, this spot offers you amazing views of the mouth of the Ulla river in the Arousa estuary. Climbing up to this point gives you the opportunity to observe Milladoiro, the Castro Valente, Xesteiras, Xiabre, Pico Sacro and A Estrada areas from a very different perspective.
Santiaguiño do monte
In addition to being a recreational area, this place is great for admiring the views. There are two options to get there: the bravest can walk up the 134-step staircase; however, those who are not in a climbing mood can access by car by AC 299 in the direction of Rois, deviating to the left about 300 meters from the bridge of Santiago. Once at the top, you will find an incomparable environment for rest and leisure. From an area equipped with tables, grills, fountains and even a playground. This smells like the greatest plan for a family, don't you think?
All this and much more is waiting for you a few steps from our Hotel Scala. So don't think it twice, and if you want to get in touch with nature, come and stay with us!
