Located in a valley between the Sar and Ulla rivers, Padrón is a town in which water plays a leading role. At the Scala Hotel Group, we invite you to discover several places where you can enjoy this liquid element.
Monte Meda viewpoint
We begin our tour a few kilometres from Padrón, on Monte Meda. From here you can observe in special way the Ulla River in its final section and its union to the Ría de Arousa, reaching the view to the nearby villages and to places such as the West Towers of Catoira. Beautiful views of the sea and river in an excellent forest environment.
Pesqueiras do Ulla
Approaching the village, in the vicinity of the convent of San Antonio de Herbón you can meet the so-called Pesqueiras on the banks of the Ulla River, stone constructions that date back to Roman times and are used to capture the delicious and precious lampreys. Padrón and its area of influence are one of the very few places where they are still.
Espolón Walk
Once in Padrón, we cannot fail to mention its Espolón walk, on the banks of the Sar River. With its stone benches and flanked by the statues of Rosalía de Castro and Camilo José Cela, it will make you enjoy a pleasant walk through the village.
Sar-Ulla Estuary Recreational Area
Following the canal of the Sar River, traveling about two kilometres from the town centre of Padrón, we will arrive at this perfect natural place to enjoy a day of rest. This has an area equipped with tables, fountains, playground, parking area, a pedestrian path and a bike path.
After this route, you will need the best of breaks. To do this, we wait for you at Scala Hotel. Thanks to our situation, we will be the perfect starting point for your stay in Padrón.
