These days Galicia is suffering one of the worst times for its forests and ecosystems in general. There are many areas affected by the fires, and although most have already been extinguished, the damage they have caused heartbreakingly. At the Hotel Scala we consider ourselves to be great lovers of nature and therefore, we believe that it is necessary to become aware of the importance and the natural wealth that our soils have. For this reason, we want to value some areas close to our hotel for those who enjoy endless walks full of charm and nature, always betting on sustainable tourism and respectful of ecosystems.
Having said that, take paper and pen, and point our recommendations well to enjoy a pleasant walk and beautiful views:
Walking around Padrón:
To get there we have two options: either on foot, through an interesting staircase of 132 steps or, for those who prefer not to get too tired ahead of time, with the car on the AC 299 in the direction of Rois, turning left on to about 300 meters from the Santiago Bridge. There we will find a place of tranquility and nature in which to enjoy a day with family or with friends, as it has children´s área, picnic área, grills… It highlights three elements: the beautiful chapel of the fifteenth century,It highlights three elements: the beautiful chapel of the fifteenth century, built in honor to the canon San Gregorio; the source, linked to the forgiveness of sins and used in San Juan to purify herbs; and 10 stones of the batholitic conjunction with the figure of St. James in the center.
Following the channel of the Sar river on its left bank, after a 2 km walk from the center of the town of Padrón, we will arrive at this lovely natural space perfect to enjoy a day of rest. This has an area equipped with tables, fountains, children's playground, parking area, a pedestrian path, a bike path...
Spectacular routes... only 30 minutos by car from our hotel!
These two recreational areas separated by the river Ulla and united by one of the longest hanging bridges of Galicia, 80 meters long and 1.5 meters wide; have a parking area, tables and trails that run around the Ulla River, as well as an interpretation center and a salmon breeding and breeding station.
Also on the banks of the Ulla River we find this magnificent natural environment that stands out for the singular set that make up the sanctuary, the fountain, the music box, the view from the viewpoint and the contrast of the two bridges (the old and the modern of the AVE). In addition, the recreation area has perfect tables and benches to rest after touring the area.
In the N-550 between Pontevedra and Caldas de Rei, 104 km, it is this amazing place that combines nature and architecture. It has a waterfall bordered by numerous mills that were recovered a few years ago and which you can visit following the various hiking trails of the natural park.
At the foot of the waterfall is a recreational area with tables, fountains, barbecues and services, as well as a restaurant built in one of the mills.
