Galicia has almost 1,500 kilometers of coastline that hide authentic natural gems. The famous Galician estuaries harbor true wild paradises of white sand, which are waiting to be discovered. The Hotel Scala has a privileged location that brings you closer to these must-see points in which to return to that authentic and natural beach, with the sound of the sea as a soundtrack and the waves unleashing their fury against the rocks as a visual spectacle. The Natural Park of Corrubedo, O Vilar and As Furnas are three natural spaces located just one step from our accommodation and that you can not miss.
Natural Park of Corrubedo and O Vilar
The Natural Park of Corrubedo Dunes deserves a visit by itself. Its famous movable dune, with more than 20 meters of height and 1 kilometer of extension, is perhaps the most known element of the Park. Contemplating the dune from its viewpoint is an experience that you can not miss while visiting the most visited natural park in Galicia. Do not forget to visit one of its hiking trails or the spectacular lagoons of Vixán and Carregal, one of fresh water and the other of salt water, which besides being framed in a postcard landscape are a must for bird lovers.
But undoubtedly one of the great attractions of the park are its beaches. The most famous and the most spectacular O Vilar, an impressive beach of fine sand, more than 1 kilometer long and completely open to the sea. Along the sandstone large rocks are eroded, eroded by the sea that give the landscape an even more wild and special air. Attached to O Vilar are three other beaches that make the total extension of the set is around five kilometers. Of course, when it comes to wild beaches it is important to attend to the instructions of the lifeguards and respect the color of the flags for the bathroom. A necessary precaution to enjoy a unique natural environment.
As Furnas
It is another of the most beautiful wild beaches in Galicia. Located in the City Council of Porto do Son, it is located in a natural and unspoilt environment and as it could not be otherwise, the beach opens completely to the sea, leaving simply the horizon line. Known for its rough waters and the rock formations to which it owes its name, the "furnas", which are nothing but wells of crystal clear water surrounded by rocks whose real depth is not noticed. As Furnas has recently been the scene of the famous Fariña series, so surely your panoramic will be familiar.
Its waves offer a hypnotic spectacle and it is recommended, as in all wild beaches, caution in the bath. If you want to enjoy this beach in a unique moment we recommend a visit at sunset, watching the sunset from the sand, while surfers ride the waves and time, for a moment, stops.
If you are willing to discover these wild treasures, we recommend that you stay with us to enjoy all the amenities and free parking from which to jump, every morning to explore the area and the fantastic beaches that we offer, located a few kilometers from our hotel. We are waiting for you this summer at Hotel Scala!
