Nature lovers are in luck. And very close to the Scala Hotel are some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the entire region. Therefore, if you are wishing to disconnect and stroll among some of the most beautiful landscapes of Galicia, without a doubt, Hotel Scala is your place. We offer you three alternatives to enjoy this unique environment and we recommend that you come with time so you can explore them all. They will surprise you!
Roteiro do Té
The neighboring Rianxo Town Hall offers a low difficulty route that runs along the shore of the Té River for 5 kilometers (one way). Undoubtedly, a recommended walk to walk through a landscape full of green and with the sound of water cradling the entire route. In addition, in this walk you can find old mills, which worked with the force of the water of the river and of which the structure is still preserved. Along the way you can stop at one of the picnic boxes that are arranged along the entire route to regain strength or reserve yourself for the As Miráns Recreation Area, where the journey ends. It is a relaxed route, in which to spend a day surrounded by waterfalls and suitable for the whole family. For those who are left wanting more and do not mind extending the difficulty of the route, we recommend the climb to the Pozo Bastón waterfall, a place that also houses an interesting legend.
As Brañas de Laíño
Only one step away from Padrón is a route that runs through one of the most important wetlands in Europe: the Brañas de Laíño, integrated into the Red Natura 2000. There are several routes that can be made in this environment, one of them is the circular route from A Lavandeira, a singular set by itself, which houses 11 granaries, arranged in a fan shape. The route covers a total of 11 kilometers and is of medium-low difficulty. Undoubtedly one of our recommendations to contemplate some of the most impressive panoramic views of the Ulla River, in an area near its mouth.
The last stage of the Camino: Padrón- Santiago
If you want to spend a memorable day and also try the bug of the Camino de Santiago, we recommend that you approach Compostela in a different way: like a pilgrim. The last stage of the Portuguese Way, of about 25 kilometers, begins precisely in Padrón and does not have a particularly high difficulty, although due to its length it requires a little prior preparation. No doubt the key points are the sanctuary of A Escravitude and the arrival at the top of Milladoiro, where you can see for the first time, the Cathedral of Santiago. The route ends, as it could not be otherwise, in the square of O Obradoiro before the impressive baroque facade of the Cathedral. An unforgettable experience to live during your holidays in Galicia.
Padrón offers a unique environment for hiking enthusiasts, with a thousand and one options that you cannot miss. We also recommend the climb to Monte Meda or the walks along the banks of the Ulla River, if you have been wanting more. At Hotel Scala we are looking forward to receiving you so you can discover the unique landscapes of our surroundings. We are waiting for you!
